Twenty-five years ago, these sheets were purchased in Tokyo. Cherished. Cared for. Carried across the world.
In 2024, I found them again — in a small shop in Coupeville, WA, sold by someone who understood their worth. I bought what I could. Used them sparingly. Built a handful of extraordinary collections around them, one careful sheet at a time.
Now, the sheets are almost gone. What's left isn't enough for a full collection — just a few loose pieces, saved for one last release.
This is it. The farewell Vintage Chiyogami collection.
Because this paper is no longer in production. It cannot be reordered, reprinted, or recreated. Once these journals are gone, this design leaves the world for good.
The final piece features a striking botanical motif — soft pastel flowers set against a sea-blue background, touched with gold and purple. We paired it with a bold yellow-gold Japanese book cloth, for a journal that is entirely one of one.
