B5 Hardcover Notebook finished in Renato Crepaldi Blue and Brown Fern Marble Paper

Renato Crepaldi is internationally acclaimed for his extraordinary hand-marbled paper. Crafted in small batches using ancient techniques and modern materials, each sheet is a one-of-a-kind work of art.

The design featured here—Blue & Brown Fern—is from Renato’s most recent (and sold-out) collection. Rich in contrast, with subtle gold accents woven through, it’s a masterpiece of color, movement, and craftsmanship.

I was fortunate enough to acquire a small quantity of this rare paper, a treasured addition to my personal collection. These papers are deeply meaningful to me, and when I choose to use them in my bookbinding, it is always with careful thought and intention.

For this release, I’ve paired the Blue & Brown Fern marbled paper with a soft gold Japanese book cloth. A muted khaki elastic band complements the palette without distraction, allowing the shimmering gold details and vibrant marbling to take center stage.

All Graystorm Notebooks use smooth 118-gsm/80lb uncoated paper, eliminates feathering and bleed-through, making them the ideal notebook for fountain pen users. Ghosting is minimized due to the 95% opacity, allowing writing on both sides of the page with confidence.
